It doesn’t matter the month, Bluff is always thinking about quality and the safety of our customers – that is why all of our products follow OSHA regulations.

Two Bluff innovations – Our EZ-Roll and our Speedy Board were designed to keep our customers safe.  These two Bluff innovations make material handling safe and effective.

EZ Roll

The EZ allows for one person positioning of a dock plate with its telescoping and self storing handles.  See this video for how the EZ Roll works.  For more information on these and our other products, click here.

Speedy Board

Here we take the Steel “T” board design and “kick it up a notch” or two to create the Speedy Board®. Fork cutouts are added to the leading edge of the board, allowing your driver the ability to “scoop” the board and move it into place and to retrieve it for storage when the job is done.

This work is all accomplished without the driver leaving the safety of the fork truck cage. The Speedy Board®(SB) option can be added to TFL, TNB and SC boards at no charge.

Speedy Boards®, like all Bluff Manufacturing boards and plates, are ANSI tested and compliant. They are the only ANSI tested portable boards and plates on the market.

Cantilever Rack Solutions

Measure twice, cut once. We’re all familiar with the old adage advising patience and precision to ensure the best possible results. But to keep up with the break-neck pace of supply and demand, some manufacturers are foregoing such attention to detail in favor of a one-size-fits-all mentality. This is not the case with Bluff Manufacturing. Bluff is all about finding the right solutions to specific problems. This is where Bluff’s cantilever rack system comes in. Rather than producing a generalized solution, Bluff’s solutions focused sales team and design engineers will take the time to assess your needs and work to generate a specific, effective solution to your storage problems.

Why use cantilever rack?

The cantilever rack’s open-faced racking design permits easier storage of wide products, maximizes storage space, and makes loading and unloading easier, compared to a standard pallet rack. Product damage due to floor storage and product stacking is minimized, while product visibility and accessibility are improved significantly, allowing for enhanced inventory management. Bluff’s cantilever arm length is easily customizable to your needs, where most imports offer little flexibility in sizing. Bluff’s bolt on construction bases offer superior stability.

Bluff is proud to offer the highest amount of specificity and capacity among competitors in their all American-made, high quality cantilever racks. Haliburton, Dyna-Drill, Busby Metals, and Schlumberger have all looked to Bluff’s cantilever racks for storage solutions and found great satisfaction.
Bluff’s Steel Structures team is ready to help you maximize productivity and grow your business using cantilever rack storage solutions.

Prospecting with LinkedIn

Typically, account executives get their leads by prospecting or through leads generated by marketing efforts. Marketing can send leads to sales through tradeshows, newsletters, website forms, events, and other traditional marketing channels.

More recently, social media has gained wide traction. We’ve read countless articles that prove how social media has moved into the business space and is now more than a set of personal networking tools. For sales and marketing, social media is yet another channel, perhaps the quickest, most relevant and transparent tool out there. For marketers, social media is it. We’ve talked about how marketing can utilize social media and we’ve exchanged several ideas on various social apps to use.

Perhaps the most relevant social platform in the business world is Linkedin. Marketers have already been inundated with ideas on how to use Linkedin to build a platform for their company from which to “broadcast” their message and their clout as industry experts. But Linkedin is perhaps the best social tool for sales reps to directly build their network and sell! For the Linkedin savvy sales rep, his/her 500+ connections mean ample sales opportunities.

And the best part is, account executives don’t need to wait or depend on marketing to benefit from this piece of the social pie. They can go right ahead and prospect using their own network. Sales Managers typically don’t want their reps taking time away from active selling to learn new processes or systems. But Linkedin is now an inherent part of doing business. It’s almost as commonplace as knowing how to use Microsoft Word or Microsoft Outlook. Chances are, your sales reps already come with a fully-packed network of connections. So, why not harness this network?

Dedicating about half an hour every week to looking through your network, tagging them into different buckets (family, friends, or by titles) can help sort through the noise effectively. And titles and companies don’t stay constant. That executive admin you once knew could be a person of influence in another sphere. If your marketing team has already developed whitepapers, presentations, or social discussions that have topic relevance and highlight you and your company as industry leaders, send these once a month to your prospects or your tagged contacts on Linkedin and watch your sales funnel grow!
